It's been a long week. I finish training tomorrow with a 7am shift. Yup. That means I have to get up at 5am so I can shower and catch the 6 am bus. No one should have to get up that early. Oh well, all of my shifts next week are closing, so I won't have to get up early at all. Which is nice. That is actually all I am going to write for now, because I am freaking exhausted. I have a head cold and I didn't sleep well last night. So farewell for now.
Peace, Joe

First day of training: done!
I am officially done with my first day of training! I have 15 different locations I will be rotating through, including the star wars and Indiana Jones stores, which is awesome! I am still a little worried about standing all day, but I will deal with it, lol. Though, I have to say that every time I talk to someone new, I get a stronger and stronger feeling that I am getting a sales pitch. It is worrying me a little, I'm not gonna lie. Seriously, anything that really needs a sales pitch must have a dark side. Oh well, I am here, and I love interacting with the guests, and it will look great on my resume.
Speaking of interacting with the guests, I think that pin trading with the guests is one of my favorite things! It is so much fun, and I don't feel like I'm trying to sell something, lol. Seriously, though, I do think that I might have a hard time with be a salesperson. I don't like trying to pressure people into buying things. It will pay the bills while I get to run a muck in Disney World! :D

A day off, finally!
So, I have been waking up early everyday since Tuesday morning, and I thought I was going to have to wake up early again this morning, but yesterday I learned that my schedule had changed! I get today and tomorrow off! :D I got to sleep 9 hours and I have gotten my laundry done and I have been writing the necessary letters and e-mails to family and friends back home. I feel like I am still getting things done, but I still get to relax while I do it! I am going to go to Animal Kingdom shortly, and then I will go to Epcot and hang out with one of my flatmates. It is gonna be so totally awesome! :D
I went to Hollywood Studios yesterday to be shown around the park and to get my costume. It isn't to bad, just pants, a blue shirt, a yellow bow tie and a white hat. Well, that is my main costume, and isn't too bad. I am glad I get to wear pants. Oh, and I might get a chance to work in the star tours store! I am so excited! I also have a coffee shop in my area that I might have to work for, so I am going to have to learn have to make coffee, lol. It is going to be nice to have a variety, though. Overall, I am pretty happy about my work location.
The food here is so expensive, though! Not the food at the grocery store, the food on the Disney property. I thought it would be the same as Disneyland, but it is definitely worse. Oh well, guess I will be packing my own lunches, lol. I am off to visit Disney World now!

:D
I'm in Florida! I've even been in Epcot and Magic Kingdom! Granted, they were both short trips, but it was still pretty awesome! I am going to my first day on site tomorrow. It is called "On with the Show" at Hollywood studios, which is where I am working. And then on Sunday I have my first training day. This has been a long week! I hope I have Monday off, because I am so tired from waking up early every morning. Tonight I plan to relax in my apartment and watch a movie or read a book, since it looks like I am going to have to get on the 6:35 bus tomorrow morning, which is ridiculous! But totally worth it! So far this experience has been so much fun! I am not going to give you a moment by moment recap of what I have been doing, but it has included several expensive meals on Disney property, riding 4 rides at Epcot, riding no rides, but visiting Magic Kingdom, an Arabian party, and several trips to Wal-Mart and Target to get supplies. It doesn't sound like much, but when you include the check in process and the housing meeting and the traditions class, I have been constantly going until this afternoon, when I finally had a break. I spent this break playing Epic Mickey and eating Mac & Cheese. Time well spent. That's all for now, though I will say that the Living with the Land ride in Epcot is amazing! Until next time,

An Ending...
Today was my last day of work. It was kind of weird. I was a little sad, because I made a few friends during the two years that I worked there, and it was sad to say good bye. It was exciting, because I am glad to be done with that job. I did not like the work very much, and I am moving on to something so much better! It was also weird to think that I would not see that office or those people for at least 6 months. I've been working there for 2 years, and today I walked away from it. I felt like I was saying good bye to a chapter of my life. And saying hello to a brand new one.

Useless knowledge, I think not
I have a problem with the phrase "useless knowledge." They say that it is useless because it is not something that will come in handy in your everyday life. But that isn't true for everybody. Knowing that hadephobia means fear of hell is useful if you are a psychologist, or if you know someone who suffers from this fear (though, fear of hell is kind of the whole point, so this applies to most people). Knowledge of the fact that a group of crows is actually called a murder of crows is very useful to a biologist or someone who works for PBS. Just because the knowledge doesn't help you do your laundry or drive to work, doesn't mean that it is useless. Besides, how cool is it that it is called a murder of crows? Seriously!
I'm procrastinating from packing, and so I thought I would share my annoyance with you. But seriously, think about it. What kinds of things are useful to you that might be considered useless to the majority of the population?
Peace, Joe

Oh, silly me!
Yup. It's been a while. I've done a lot. I have my Associate degree now. I wrote a novel in November. I'm leaving for the Disney World College Program in less than a week. It's a little exciting, I guess, if you are into that whole "achieving things" style of living.
Which, I happen to be very into! Cause all of those things, they totally rock! Well, except for the novel itself which is rather mediocre, but the fact that I wrote it is rather awesome! And soon I will have a piece of paper that tells the world that I took enough college classes to be considered slightly educated! Woot!
What I am really excited for, however, is Disney World! It is going to be so amazing! I am planning on using this blog to document my many adventures! Though, right now I don't really have a lot to say. I am going to be hanging out with friends and packing my room into boxes (except what I am bringing with me) so that my room can be used as a guest bedroom when I leave. I have so much to do in so little time! I was away this weekend, and now I have plans galore, not to mention the family stuff that has just come up. It is all going by so quickly! I can't wait!
I'll sign out for now, but if you want to learn something new (and slightly disturbing), Google the word "neuticles."
